This is one of the most juvenile articles I have read on Medium and I can’t believe that any intelligent person would respect this advice. I feel sorry for people that believe they have no ‘true self’ just because they have many sides to their personality. That’s what a personality and character is! The fact that some people don’t have the courage to ‘be’ their true self in any given situation is usually a sign of not loving yourself enough or having a high level of shame. I would say that one important person that needs to see and understand the ‘real you’ is yourself! and any other close significant people in your life. To think that you can or should deny the ‘real you’ is blatantly a fast track to poor mental health and neurosis. Our personalities are evolving and changing all the time but this doesn’t mean we are not being our true self. Most happy, mature and well-adjusted people are glad for you to see who they really are. They don’t hide away or act petulant either, like a load of big babies comparing themselves and minding what other people think of them … For starters, it’s none of your business what other people think of you and vice versa. People that agree with this article really need to grow up! …
