Interesting read but I do not agree with these views. I am an older individual and believe I definitely understand what love is, what it feels like (at least for myself) and also what it isn’t — precisely. I’ve never had to doubt my real and profound love for someone but I would also never entertain being mistreated by a partner in the first place. Love is largely an action of care, a willingness to help, natural chemistry and a feeling of utmost respect for your partner. These are just the basics, but without them, that ain’t love! Also, people do not always immediately realise who they are going to love, but in my experience, if you’ve known someone for a while and you don’t develop any romantic feelings for them, you cannot ‘make’ yourself love them when there isn’t any chemistry; they simply aren’t your ‘type’. I have also found that ‘Love comes quickly’ has often been the truth and that profound and passionate feelings for someone don’t easily fade with the challenges of time.
