Before The Rules Were Made

Poetry ~ Lyrics

Moving through the cold air,
Where our story begins,
You waiting for my slow train,
Then running home again.

Why don’t they know us,
Why don’t their arms,
reach out.

We were the dreamers,
In our own way,
dancin’ round …

Up where the trees, are old and flustered,
And sudden shadows, fall through the space,
Remember, I loved you,
Long before, the rules, were made,
Everything was true,
Long before, the rules,
were made.

As the train moves
into suffering,
I see your face and pretend,
No war could separate us,
At the journey’s end.

Why don’t they know it,
What are their lives,
all about.

And do you hear me,
When my pain is,
crying out …
